Court Facilities Capital Review Board

Background

The Court Facilities Capital Review Board reviews and approves capital plans for court facilities and ensures that localities provide suitable and sufficient facilities for the New York Unified Court System. The voting membership of the board consists of four people appointed by the governor: one is recommended by the temporary president of the Senate, one is recommended by the speaker of the Assembly, and one is recommended by the Chief Judge of the Court of Appeals. The governor also appoints two nonvoting members to the court facilities capital review board: one is recommended by the minority leader of the Senate and one is recommended by the minority leader of the Assembly. Both voting and nonvoting members may designate representatives to attend meetings in their place and to act on their behalf.
